My name is Maud Wang Hansen and I would like you to read this if you are interested in the election to the parlament on the 1 st of september.
I am a fifty year old mother of three children, all of which are grown up now. I am married to Fríðrik, who also has three grown up children, and together we also have two lovely grandchildren. My husband and I live in Tórshavn. He is a sailor working in Norway, and I am a “sosialpedagog” and have worked as a unionleader for the last five years.
I am interested in the lives of all the people on the Faroe Islands – I care about you and your welfare.
For me it is very important that everybody, adults and children alike, who live in the Faroe Islands, are comfortable and feel that they are a part of society. It is in my interest that you can be a part of our democracy and that you go to the election. I would be very happy if you would vote for the Tjóðveldi party or for me.
I think that faroese foreign politics should not be decided in Denmark, but on the Faroe Islands, and I believe that we are capable of making our own decisions in our own country. I believe in freedom for all mankind, freedom on the Faroe Islands, and freedom for you as a citizen residing here.
It is important to me that you feel good in society, whether you work, study or if you are unemployed. The integration politics of the faroes are of great interest to me, and I firmly believe in its importance, and that the possibility of learning language, culture and society remains open for everyone. Questions about working conditions, wages, kindergarden, education, handicaps or health, are all things we can talk about.
